Hearth

I lose touch with people I actually care about. Not on purpose — I just forget to reach out, and six months disappear. Hearth's the nudge that keeps me from going quiet.

Next.js · Postgres · V1 live, V2 in planning

The job Hearth is hired for is small and specific: don’t let me go quiet on people who matter.

Every contact gets a warmth tier — Flame, Glow, Ember, Cold — and the app watches the gap since I last reached out. When someone’s slipping from Glow toward Cold, it says so. That’s the whole product. No social graph, no feed, no growth loop. A quiet list and an honest nudge.

The hard part was never the database. It was capture. If logging a conversation takes more than ten seconds, I won’t do it, and a relationship CRM nobody updates is just a fancy way to feel guilty. So V1 is built around paste-and-go and an Apple Shortcut, and V2 (“feed the funnel”) is all about making that first ten seconds disappear.
